The TPNRD gathered in Strasbourg from November 15 to 18 for a meeting held at the Council of Europe and hosted by the TPNRD’s French government colleagues. The conference brought together participants from Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, the United States, and the Order of Malta. We were also joined by the co-chairs of the TPNRD Advisory Council. Meeting in Strasbourg enabled the network to meet with senior officials at the Council of Europe and with judges at the European Court of Human Rights. The network also discussed TPNRD-commissioned policy reports, engaged with local religious leaders, and learned about religion-state relations in the Alsace region, which differ from the French system of laïcité. The program also featured two evening receptions, one hosted by the French Permanent Representative and another hosted by the Austrian Permanent Representative.
